Below is an excerpt from an IM message between me and Nadia.
This woman has a son (Ian) who is Mikhail's age and another son (Aaron) who is 2 months old. Let it be known that the nanosecond she discovered she was pregnant with No.2, she started her whole 'Diha Must Get Her No. 2 Too' Campaign.
It's like a disease, this. My friends who have had their No.2's immediately feels that it is their responsibility and duty to ensure that I procreate too. Yes, I'm talking about you too, Winaaa.
So, here's the very mature and intellectual discussion Nadia and I had on the issue of having No.2...
Nadia: and oh, no one's allowed to touch his adik but him
me: awwww, now THAT'S super sweet
very protective abang, isn't he
Nadia: he practically chases the grandparents away from the adik!
me: bet the adik adores him
Nadia: adik cant stand him
the minute aaron even catches a whiff of ian he starts crying
hehehehehh
dihaaa oiiiiiiii go get pregnany
it's FUN to see siblings interact
me: i'm sure

Nadia: cannnottttttttttt

Nadia: i am!!!!!!!!
me: you don't count
la la la laaaa
Nadia: nonsense
i hope you get pregnant soooooon. AMINNNNNNNNNNNN
me: crazy weirdo
There you go.
My mature and intellectual discussion with the crazy weirdo.
For those of you who asked, and those of you who thought about asking but didn't and for those of you who never thought of asking but is still reading, here's the dibs on the whole No.2 issue....
We're not ready for No.2.
The whole bunch of us aren't.
I'm not ready, Wan's not ready (and we are the ones that COUNT, by the way).
The rest of the family aren't ready for Mikhail to have a sibling either.
We're all still enjoying the company of this little wan and though we do look forward to more little wans, we're not thinking about it right now.
I, for one, would like at least a 3 year gap between the children (if God blesses me with more). It's my own personal decision and my husband feels the same way. Yes, we understand the arguments about having children close in ages but we've chosen this way as ours...
Lets just respect each others decisions without being all makcik about it, okay? InsyaAllah, we'll add on to our little family when we're ready and God agrees, okay? Cool.
Anyway, since I haven't updated for quite some time... Here's a pictorial update on Mikhail, our One and Only Son... (for now)
We still get our family exercise by roaming the malls :) Daddy gets extra exercise when Mikhail's too tired by carrying him around on his shoulders.

Mikhail's favourite ride
One of our 'exercise sessions' resulted in finding Mikhail his very own couch to watch tv on. He doesn't like to sit on the big sofas we have and prefers to stand wayyyy too close to the tv instead. So, we got him this little armchair and it seems to work!

Baby Bear has his own chair
Mikhail LOVES cars. And buses, and trucks, and motorcyles.
His latest craze are lorries. BIG lorries. He points them out on the road in awe.
And when we go to the toy store, he goes STRAIGHT to the colorful little lorries and makes the 'vrooomm vvvvroomm' sound.

Can I have both of 'em? How 'bout all of 'em ... Just the ones on the bottom shelf, Mom, please? Please?
Mikhail went to see Beauty & The Beast, the Broadway Musical at KL Convention Centre, accompanied by Mommy and Auntie Aisyah. Although the show lasted till almost midnight, Mikhail kept awake for the entire thing!
He was captivated by the swirls of colors and he danced away with the wonderful music. Only when the Beast appeared did he jump straight into Mommy’s arms and sat still on her lap.
During the intermission, we stood around drinking sodas and feeding Mikhail bits of an egg sandwich. He caught the attention of several lovely ladies who were so curious and delighted to see such a young musical-lover in their midst. I didn’t get to take much pictures, forgot the camera and my mobile phone camera was acting up. Dang!

Enthralled by the musical wonder!
On another weekend, Mommy and Daddy took Mikhail to watch Kung Fu Panda. It’s been awhile since we’ve taken him to the movies and we were worried that, being older, he’d fidget and squirm and make typical toddler fussy-noise. Alhamdulillah, things haven’t changed that much.
Mikhail still enjoyed the movie the way he used to enjoy it as an infant. For the first half of the movie, he sat very still, with only his little hand moving in and out of the popcorn box he was holding in his lap. The second half of the movie, he drank a bottle of warm milk and promptly fell asleep on Daddy’s lap.
Looks like we can have more movie dates with Mikhail, soon!

Our Little Panda fasssttt asleep
Yeah, our Little Wan is getting bigger.
Cheekier and more mobile too.
And we're enjoying every single second of it!
Here he is, with his favourite pair of sunnies. He likes to wear them at night, I don't know why...

I know I look cool... Cool as ICE, baby!
